The Orthodox Church of America is a "Sister Church" with the Apostolic Orthodox Church, an independent Self-Governing association of bishops, clergy and laity, having preserved intact the grace of the Canonical Valid Apostolic Succession and based their existence on the canonical foundation of the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Regulations 1917- 1918 Decree of His Holiness Patriarch St. +Tikhon of 7/20 November 1920, as well as the ancient (doimperskoy) tradition of church government based on the principle of autocephaly (self governance) of each bishop. The Apostolic Orthodox Church officially became "autocephalous" from the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
The Apostolic Orthodox Church grew from a true "Revival of Russian Orthodoxy" which began organizing in 1992 to unite people who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ - The Savior of the world. And, to be free from the influence of the secular state, free from any and all government control or manipulation, free from hypocrisy and free from simony (buying) ecclesiastical positions!
The Orthodox Church of America maintains this Registry to confirm Hierarchs that maintain the common veneration of the Holy Canons of the Apostolic Orthodox Church and adhere to the "Declaration on the Revival of Orthodoxy." The Primate of the OCA-UAOC is honoured to have a special relationship within the Holy Synod of the Apostolic Orthodox Church.B

Establishment of the "Apostolic Orthodox Church” was inaugurated in Moscow on May 13, 2000 and who’s Canonical existence is based on the foundation of the resolutions of the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church of 1917-1918 and by the Decree of His Holiness Patriarch St Tikhon, No 362 of November 7/20 1920, as well as on the ancient (pre-imperial) tradition of church administration based on the principal of the autocephaly of each Bishop. TO FURTHER HELP OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN RUSSIA for Legal preservation of the "Apostolic Orthodox Church" the OCA-UAOC helped file and completed documentation on July 10, 2023, in the State of Ohio, for the APC to be granted formal state registration with accompanying registration and acknowledgment by the Federal Government of the United States of America...and, we stand with them!
