Building Fund for the United States of America
We are humbly presenting this request as Archbishop of the Orthodox Church of America – Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church…part of the Ukrainian in Spiritual Heritage and from the EARLY CHURCH dating back to the Apostles.
Since 1942 in Chicago, we have served the spiritual needs of our Faithful who came to the United States to escape the torture and evil of the Stalin/Communist regimes. Since 1987 we have served the local Ohio community and joyfully celebrated “The Millennium of Christianity in the Ukraine” in 1988.
Our original idea was to erect what would become the "WORLD'S SMALLEST CATHEDRAL" and it would bring attention to our cause and given publication all over the globe via the "Guinness World Book of Records" and the "World Record Academy" to the work we are doing to remember, in memoriam, our dear Living and Departed from our Ukrainian Homeland.
The current war has resulted in both displacement and property destruction of more than 1.5 MILLION homes. Thousands have been lost on the battlefields and the UN Human Rights Monitoring Missions have reported the innocent slaughter of countless children and elderly! All these poor souls MUST BE honoured and their MEMORIES MUST BE ETERNAL…including all those in Russia and in Israel-Hamas as well! Therefore, a larger facility would be a greater fulfillment if it be in the Good Lord's Divine Will.
Indifference is an ugly disease; therefore, I ask everyone to open their hearts! After nearly 40 years in Ohio, we have never had a place “to call our own”…always using borrowed Sanctuaries or renting space. Now, we want to renovate an existing structure or build a new one to house a National Memorial Chapel (remembering all Living & Departed from the wars) with Library, Rectory and Chancellory Office. Building Funds were never a priority because helping others came first. Now, we want a place to worship and to preserve the spiritual, cultural and artistic beauties of our Ukrainian Heritage…being destroyed overseas!
We appreciate this opportunity to ask your financial help with our Building Fund. Your generosity will be solemnly recorded for time immemorial on the Diptychs erected in our National Memorial Chapel!
Thank you and May Almighty God shower you and your staff with His Choicest of Blessings…
