YOU ARE WELCOME...

The Beersheba Syriac Mar Thoma Church is a part of the Orthodox Church of America and Dependencies and under the Omophorion of His Eminence +MICHAEL, Primate of the Orthodox Church of America/Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church - Apostolic Orthodox Church and in Communion with our "Sister Churches" of the APC - Historic Federation in America and Dependencies, Russia, France and Ukraine.

His Eminence +IGNATIUS PHILIP serves as Archbishop to oversee the Western Rite Beersheba Syriac Mar Thoma Church which has its Apostolic Succession from the
Syrian Orthodox line that was introduced to the British Isles in 1866 at the hands of Mar Ignatius Boutros IV who was at the time the Ecumenical Metropolitan for the Syriac Orthodox Church.

Beersheba Syriac Mar Thoma Church is the coming together of three lines of Apostolic Succession - the Syriac Orthodox, the Malankara Indian Orthodox and the Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East.

When His Eminence was consecrated a bishop in 2020, the intention was that he would be an Oriental Orthodox Western Rite whilst at the same time and acknowledgement that both the Oriental & Chalcedon Orthodox’s had begun to settle their long held historical and spiritual differences.

So within the Orthodox patrimony we are ecumenical and reach out to Orthodox of both the West and the East; Oriental & Chalcedon, in the U.K. & Europe, the USA & the wider world, to work together for the sake of the Christian faith. Within this the Orthodox Syriacs and Malankarans in my own country - the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland exhibit a great ecumenical spirit- and to that end we are committed too.
Picture
Beersheba Syriac Mar Thoma Church is by nature an evangelistic jurisdiction. We take seriously the call to evangelise, make disciples and preach the gospel to all nations. This is not some bolt on extra - but instead is an integral part of what it means to be Orthodox. This is an Orthodox faith that is real and as believers & followers of Jesus Christ we expect to see Him manifest and working daily in our lives & ministry.

Beersheba Syriac Mar Thoma Church - is very much a Mission Church, where we plough our furrow where ever we are in Gods field. We are involved in real ministry to real people and from that perspective there is nothing fake about us - but sometimes just the harsh realities of life. Although we are on the internet and operate through it - we are primarily making a difference in the lives of those for whom we have regular contact in person.

We also have two connected Facebook groups. One is the Orthodox Catholic Personal Prelature of St. Cyril of Alexandria the other the Eparchy of Christ the King. Please "click" on the respective names to visit the group sites.  Both are diocese type structures, but non geographical in nature.

The former will be for Christians who desire to join and support us - but who still intend to stay in their parent church. This is a diocese type structure intended for Christians in general who are looking to include aspects of Orthodoxy into their lives. It’s also for those who want to support us and still others who look to our patrimony, both close to home and afar.

Secondly we have the Eparchy of Christ the King, this is a non-geographical personal ordinariate type group especially for Anglicans, Methodists and Lutherans looking to become Orthodox. This is for those who are quite advanced in looking for pastoral over sight from an Orthodox Prelate and are ready to actually move to a Western Rite jurisdiction but wish to retain some of their previous spiritual home. Both individuals and parishes are able to join us

Personal Prelatures and Personal Ordinariates are similar diocese type structures that are used presently by other churches- that I have taken the idea from and modified it. They are similar also to the Anglican Communion - Extra Provincial Churches that are small jurisdictions established to pastor small groups around the world.

We also have a Benedictine Third Order group based in Texas, USA  It's led by Brother Prior Seraphim and you can vist them by "clicking" the following link: The Benedictine Oblates of Our Lady of Walsingham.  God Bless us All!
