CONFESSION OF FAITH
OF THE APOSTOLIC ORTHODOX CHURCH
We believe in the One Trinity God: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in God the Father Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and earth, all visible and all invisible.
We believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ - the Son of God and the Saviour of the world, who took upon Himself our sins, Cricified, Risen and Coming.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Life-Giving, worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son, renewing the face of the earth and acting in the Church of Christ.
In our Faith, we base ourselves on Holy Scripture (all the books of the Old and New Testaments) and Holy Tradition (the teachings of the Holy Apostles, Holy Ecumenical and Local Councils, Holy Father).
We fully accept the Apostolic and Nicene-Constantinople Creeds.
We inviolably preserve the Dogmas of the Holy Ecumenical Councils, but for the sake of the proclamation of the Gospel and the salvation of souls, we consider it possible, by "economia", to make changes to Church Canons and develop Holy Tradition in strict accordance with the Spirit and Letter of Divine Revelation.
We equally acknowledge both the Western and Eastern Christian Heritage, the whole wealth of theological thought and liturgical traditions, in which it does not contradict the Orthodox Faith.
We believe that through the sin of Adam, mankind inherits a damaged nature, but Our Lord Jesus Christ, through a sacrifice of the Cross, atoned for the ancestral sin and all the sins of mankind, and having established His Church, He calls us to revive and participate in His Resurrection.
We believe in a single ONE, HOLY, ecumenical (that is, CATHOLIC) and APOSTOLIC Church, manifesting itself in many Local Churches and communities, through Faith and Sacraments involved in the mystery of the death and Resurrection of Christ in the grace of the Holy Spirit; and we dare to consider our Apostolic Orthodox Church as part of the ONE Church of Christ.
We believe that the Church is necessary for salvation, for Christ, the only Mediator and the Path of Salvation, is present among us in His Body, which is the Church.
We confess that there are Seven Sacraments? Mysteries of the Church: Baptism, the Holy Eucharist, Anointing of the Sick, Repentance of Sins, Chrismation/Confirmation, Holy Matrimony and the Priesthood/HOLY ORDERS.
We believe in one baptism in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, established by Our Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
We believe that the Eucharistic/Divine Liturgy is the mysterious fulfillment of the Holy Sacrifice, and under the guise of bread and wine, the faithful partake of the true Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We honour all the Saints of God, both Eastern and Western, especially the Most Pure and Immaculate Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Incarnate Word, Our God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
May the Most Holy God help us to maintain this faith. Amen.
